Who We Are
United Way of Clark & Champaign Counties began Child Care Connections in 1991 in response to a Clark County community assessment, which ranked access to childcare as an essential need in the community.

Child Care Connections continues to serve the families and the childcare providers in its community. Both Child Care Connections and United Way believe that it is essential that communities be served locally.

What We Do
Child Care Connections believes parents are the fittest to evaluate and choose childcare for their children because they know their child’s needs best.

Our goal is to assist parents in finding the widest range available for childcare, and to encourage parents to act on their own knowledge and feeling as they select among the possibilities.

Responsibility for selecting and employing a childcare provider rests with each parent. Child Care Connections does not monitor the quality, nor does it recommend, the providers listed with the service. Parents are urged to carefully interview and check references before leaving a child in care.
Referral Procedures Child Care Connects maintains comprehensive information on many available childcare options and ways to select childcare.
Child Care Connections refers to licensed centers, certified family daycare providers and registered family daycare providers who have self-certified that they meet Child Care Connections minimum standards. It is not the purpose of Connections to monitor whether providers are, in fact, meeting the minimum standards. Parents are urged to inquire and satisfy themselves as to whether these standards are being met.
