“A 71 yr. old male was seen in the ER for a TIA or mini-stroke. He has Medicare A&B and an OhioBest discount card and received social security each month. He was put on several meds as a temporary measure until his surgery sometime later that month. We were able to help with $200 towards one of his discharge medications ($248) and after determining that he would qualify for additional help, we were able to help him with 2 more vouchers until he had surgery. Without the temporary assistance he stated that he didn’t know how he would have afforded the medications which helped him make it till his surgery. His daughter called after his surgery and stated he was home doing well. He wanted us to know how appreciative he was for the help and he knows it took a weight off his shoulders and he’s getting better now.”
